THE AFTERMATH OF ELON’S FSD 12 DEMO 🎥
The Full Self-Driving V12 showcase! X got lit with Papa Musk taking his Tesla for a spin.
Let's recap the highlights. (Watch the live stream video by clicking here)
Setting the Scene: As Musk powered up for the drive aiming for a mystery spot in Stanford. Elon puts a random pin on the map and FSD 12 is away. Bonus? Musk tried to pop by Mark Zuckerberg’s house. 🥊
Tech Talk: Musk gave context on how FSD 12 learns. Lines of code? Nope. This bad boy’s all about that machine learning magic. In Elon's words: “It's all nets, baby.”
Oh Shit Moment: One intervention... Musk had to step in when the car mistook a green light intended for a different lane. (Occurs around 19:45 timestamp)
The Aftermath
People had varied reactions. In typical Tesla fashion, there was no middle ground. It's love or hate.
Tech bigwig Robert Scoble tipped his hat to the tech, dubbing it a world changer. He even predicted that in 10 years we'd reminisce about this showcase:
Our world changed tonight.
In 10 years we will look back at the first public demo of a robot that learned to move around the world by watching only videos.
This is a paradigm shift in how software is built.
At one point @elonmusk took over because the AI made a mistake.… twitter.com/i/web/status/1…

Though of course, the FSD showcase wasn’t met without criticism:
Watch this @Tesla FSD Beta v12 try to run a red light, forcing Elon Musk to take over. "Intervention!" @elonmusk your defective and dangerous software has no place on our public roads and should be banned immediately.

Regardless of which opinion, people wonder what's next for FSD?
Fans want a better V13. Critics? They want fewer mistakes.
The FSD 12 showcase was a big deal. It might go down as a Wright Brothers moment or just another manufactured EV play.
Time will tell how it fits in tech history. The real question for FSD is "When".

PROJECT HIGHLAND EXPLAINED 🚗
You've probably heard of the rumored $25,000 Tesla – yeah, I want one too. But before that hits the road, let's talk about Tesla’s other secret-ish project. Project Highland.
The Model 3, once the darling of every driveway chat, is feeling its age since its 2017 debut. So Tesla is gearing up to give it a touch-up.
Here's the quick rundown on cosmetics/interior:
Revamped front end (headlights, front bumper)
Revamped rear end (taillights, rear bumper)
Ventilated seats
Carbon fiber/Brushed metal dashboard
No gear stalks
Visual changes that the average person can see. (Only Tesla nerds noticed in the past)
Now the important stuff.
Project Highland will debut with FSD Hardware Version 3.5. What does that mean? It means it'll have cameras with vision clearer than your future.
People are saying that Tesla has found new ways to make cars that are cheaper. And by people we mean Papa Musk. And we're thinking to believe him on this one.
So what happens when one of the best selling EVs becomes even cheaper than it's competition?
Well. That's Project Highland.
Project Highland isn't about a car update; it's a glimpse into Tesla’s manufacturing edge.

FORD CEO ADMITS “REALITY CHECK” 🔋
Last week, Ford's top dog, Jim Farley, zoomed off on Route 66 in an F-150 Lightning.
Picture it: an electric truck, the open road, and the wild American West. Epic. Well, turns out, this modern cowboy had a few challenges.
Charging his truck wasn’t as easy as he'd hoped.
No surprise charging can be a challenge, but still learning a lot seeing firsthand the issues our customers face. This is why we’re working w/ @Tesla to provide @Ford drivers access to +12,000 superchargers & our EV certified dealers are installing fast chargers at their… httptwitter.com/i/web/status/1…p

On X, Farley said charging was “a reality check” and this was a real learning experience for him. He discovered what regular people face at public charging stations.
Farley hinted that this little charging fiasco is why Ford and Tesla are becoming BFFs. And guess what? Other OEMs like GM, Rivian, and Fisker are all adopting NACS as their solution.
Some extra juice: Seems like Ford's EV dreams had a bit of a wake-up call. A few Mustang Mach-Es have been doing the lonely dance at dealerships. Ford is adjusting their 2023 goals. They have slowed down their plan to reach 2 million EVs by 2026.

KIA EV4 SUB-COMPACT SUV SPOTTED 👀
Kia's going big on electric SUVs. After the EV9's debut and the upcoming EV5 in China, we now see the smaller EV4 in Europe.
Even with its heavy camouflage, it's clearly a Kia. Those unique triangular wheels and bright LED headlights give it away. It looks similar to the bigger EV5 and EV9 but has some design touches from the EV6.
In size, the EV4 sits between the Soul and Niro. It's targeting the B-SUV segment, set to compete with cars like the Peugeot e-2008 and possibly VW's ID.5.
It's built on the same platform as other Kia electric cars. But, it might have a smaller 400V battery to cut costs. Rumors say it could be priced under $30,000, making it Kia's most affordable electric SUV until the EV3 comes out.
The EV4 looks almost finished. We could see it officially by late 2023 or early 2024.
