NIKOLA FOUNDER SENTENCED TO JAIL

If you've been following the electric vehicle drama that's more gripping than my love life (which isn't saying much)…

Then you might be interested to know that Trevor Milton, the once big cheese of Nikola Corporation, has been given a four-year timeout in the big house.

It turns out that bragging about building your electric truck is not super cool when you put it on a hill and “pretend it’s a working EV".

Trevor aka EV Picasso

So, Trevor, our EV Picasso, also had to break his piggy bank to cough up a $1 million fine.

Apparently, he got a bit creative with the truth. Like that time I said I could do a kickflip (I can't).

The man also had a flair for the dramatics, saying he quit his job because of his wife's illness and not because he was playing fast and loose with his electric trucks.

A Nikola electric truck that may or may not be real.

He even threw in a plot twist about being a quarter Cherokee, which had as much to do with the case as I have chances with someone out of my league (zero).

Now, once upon a time, Nikola was the cool kid on the block.

They had promises of zero-emission big rigs and a buddy-buddy deal with General Motors.

But like my attempt to bake, it all went up in smoke when a report split the tea that the whole thing was about as real as my girlfriend (who lives in Canada, I swear).

Nikola’s Totally Legit EV Truck

The fallout was like watching dominos fall in slow motion but less fun.

GM pulled out faster than my dad when I ask for money, and Nikola's stock dropped like my self-esteem at a high school reunion.

Stock chart of a company that is definitely real.

So, what's the moral of the story? Maybe it's "don't lie," or perhaps "don't roll trucks down hills and pretend it's innovation."

But I think it's "don't get caught," though I guess that's why I'm writing emails and not running an EV company.

HYUNDAI N VISION 74 IS COMING - ONLY 100 TO BE BUILT ⚡️

Alright, gearheads and dreamers. Buckle up for some news that's as rare as me leaving the house on a Friday night.

Hyundai, the brand we usually associate with sensible sedans, is playing fairy godmother to our car fantasies.

They're reportedly crafting a limited run of their N Vision 74, a hybrid-EV with enough horsepower (800, to be exact) to give you that wind-in-your-hair feeling. Even if you're balding.

According to whispers from Korea's ETNews, Hyundai's planning to make 100 of these beauties.

But hold your horses.

Only 70 will be up for grabs for us regular Joes. The other 30 are being reserved for the racing elite (because apparently they need more toys).

This car is a nod to the 1974 Hyundai Pony Coupe, and it's like they took that old school charm and injected it with some futuristic steroids.

The N Vision 74's got a powertrain that's like a science fiction writer's dream. A hydrogen fuel-cell and electric motors that could probably power a spaceship.

Now before you smash your piggy bank, be warned.

Owning one of these will be as likely as me winning the lottery. And I never buy tickets.

Hyundai's not just making a car here.

They're making a supercar, which means super prices that'll make your wallet cry.

But hey, whether we can afford them or not, having 100 of these futuristic whips in the world is definitely cooler than not.

TOYOTA RECALLS 1.9 MILLION RAV4 SUVS 📉

Hey there, car enthusiasts and RAV4 owners (which, by the way, is the vehicular equivalent of choosing vanilla ice cream at a gelato shop - safe but respectable).

So, Toyota's thrown a bit of a curveball by recalling a whopping 1.9 million RAV4 SUVs.

Why?

Well, it turns out their batteries have the potential to shimmy out of place and start a campfire under your hood. Not the kind you roast marshmallows over, unfortunately.

This automotive dance-off affects models from 2013 to 2018.

And here's the scoop: some of the replacement batteries are like that one kid in class who can't sit still, especially when you're taking those corners like you're in a Fast & Furious audition.

If these jittery batteries get too groovy, they might high-five the hold-down clamp. And if they really hit it off, you might get more than just sparks.

Now, Toyota's playing it cool and hasn't said whether any RAV4s have actually thrown a fiery fit on the road.

But they're crafting a fix as we speak and plan to send out invites (well, letters) by late December to the affected party-goers.

When it's party time, your local Toyota joint will swap out the dance floor - I mean, the hold-down clamp, battery tray, and positive terminal cover.

If you're biting your nails wondering if your RAV4 is one of the chosen ones, don't let your car's battery out-dance you.

Remember, no one's too cool for a recall check.

It's like checking your zipper before a big date - better safe than sorry.
