PLUS: Fisker On The Brink π
Sup. This is Plugged In. Weβre like the movie your high school teacher put on when they were too hungover to teach - fun, informative, and we donβt make you work hard to learn.
Hereβs what weβve got for you today:

Fisker On The Brink π
TOYOTA SAYS EVS ARE A WASTE β οΈ
Toyota. The kings of the Prius.
Well, they're not exactly jumping on the electric car bandwagon as fast as some folks might like.
Their CEO basically said "nah" to a big push for EVs, claiming customers just aren't that into them yet.
Instead, Toyota's all about hybrids β they're even building a giant battery factory for them, so get ready to see more hybrids on the road.
This isn't exactly surprising.
Toyota's been all about hybrids for ages, and their EV selection is pretty slim. But is this Toyota digging themselves on to the wrong side of history?
In terms of competition, Toyota's keeping a nervous eye on China.
Those cheap, electric Chinese cars are coming.
But Toyota thinks China's gonna hit a rough patch soon⦠but only time will tell.

DORONI TAKES FLIGHT (SORT OF) βοΈ
Remember those flying car things they keep promising?
Well, one company, Doroni Aerospace, is actually getting close with their new H1-X.
It's basically a two-seater electric airplane that takes off and lands straight up β like a helicopter, but hopefully less likely to make you nauseous.
This thing looks like it could be ready to zoom around soon.
They're building a few test models now, and they're aiming for mass production in 2026. That's, uh, a little while away, but hey, progress!
Now, there are a few catches.
First, this ain't exactly cheap. We're talking $300,000 to $400,000 β more than most people's houses.
Second, while you can technically fly it yourself, it does hit 120 mph. So, you might need some serious training before you become Maverick out there.
Still, this is a pretty interesting concept. It's quiet, it's (supposedly) safe, and it could revolutionize how we get around. Just maybe not for all of us⦠yet.
FISKER ON THE BRINK π
Fisker is going through a bit of a rough patch.
They delivered some cars, but software problems and lower-than-expected sales are putting a strain on their wallet.
Things are so tight, Fisker's even gotta consider joining forces with another automaker. Like a big, strong superhero teaming up with a scrappy sidekick, just to stay afloat.
They're talking to a mystery automaker about a possible deal, which could involve building Fisker cars in North America (hello, tax credits!) and working on new electric car designs together.
Fisker's also cutting costs by laying off some employees and shrinking their office space. But hey, at least they're still aiming to build a bunch of Oceans this year β we're talking 20,000 to 24,000!
Whether Fisker can weather this storm is anyone's guess, but one thing's for sure: the road ahead is gonna be bumpy.
